Using Limiters

Limiters are found on the Advanced Search and Results pages:

  • full textpeer-reviewedscholarlyacademic researchpublication datesource typelanguagesubjectdocument type

 
Field Limiters are in the dropdown to the right of the advanced search boxes:
  • applied when setting up a search
  • used to limit to specific fields in the item record, e.g. literature reviews, by author or title, date, etc. 

 

ABI/INFORM has special limiters in advanced search:

  • look up business-specific information by NAICS code, Classification code, Location, and Person.

 

CINAHL has special limiters: 

  • agegenderfirst author is a nurse
  • evidence-based practice, clinical queries and randomized controlled trials, human or animal subjects, age group (ranging from fetus to adult)

 

Business Source Elite has special limiters:

  • product name, company/entity, ticker symbol, NAICS/Industry code, DUNS number

 

Proquest Central has limiters for:

  • Document Type, Source Type and Language

 

Proquest Central has special limiters under Browse that include:

  • Industry and Market Research, Commodity Reports, Company Reports, Career Resources and Study Paths
